Personalized Printable Bag Toppers

A bag topper is the folded header card that staples across the top of a clear cellophane bag. Fill the bag with sweets, fold the topper over the opening so it covers the front and the back, staple it shut — and a handful of sweets becomes a party favor with the birthday child's name on it. It is the cheapest trick in party planning, and it works every time.

Made to order with their name — not an off-the-shelf download

There is nothing to download the second you pay, because the topper does not exist yet — it has your child's name and age on it. You type the name, our designer builds it into the artwork properly, and we email you the finished print-ready file. Standard turnaround is 24 hours; add the rush option and it is in your inbox within 2 hours. A supermarket party pack says "Happy Birthday" — yours says the child's actual name, and their age.

What you need besides the file

Clear cellophane treat bags — any party or craft shop sells them by the hundred for pennies — white paper or light card, scissors and a stapler. That is everything. Print at 100% / Actual Size and never "Fit to page", or the topper comes out too narrow to cover the bag. Cut along the outer edge, fold down the middle line, slip it over the top of the filled bag and staple through both layers. Two staples, one at each end, is plenty.

What to put in the bag

Because the bag is see-through, what goes in it is part of the decoration — so pick sweets in the theme's colours and the whole thing looks designed. Gumballs, jelly beans, chocolate buttons, popcorn, or a mix. A useful rule: fill the bag about two-thirds, so the sweets sit below the topper and the card reads clearly. Stickers, a bouncy ball or a small toy work just as well if you would rather skip the sugar.
