Personalized Edible Cake Toppers

An edible cake topper is a high-resolution image printed onto a thin frosting or wafer sheet and laid straight onto the iced cake. It is how bakeries put photographs and characters on cakes, and it is far easier than wrestling with fondant. Ours come with the birthday child's name and age built into the artwork — 55 themes, six sizes, and a matching sheet of cupcake toppers on most of them.

No edible printer? You don't need one

This is the question everybody asks, so here is the plain answer: you do not need any special equipment. If you happen to own an edible printer, print the file yourself onto a frosting sheet. If you do not — and almost nobody does — take the file to a local bakery or the cake counter at a big supermarket. Printing an edible image from a customer's file is a standard service and usually costs a few dollars. You are buying the design; they own the printer.

What size topper for what cake

Match the topper to the cake and it looks professional; get it wrong and it hangs over the edge. A 6" round suits a small cake. An 8" round fits the standard 8-inch cake most people buy. The quarter sheet (8" x 11") and the half sheet (11" x 17") are for a slab cake from the supermarket. If you are between sizes, measure the top of the cake and take the next size down — a topper slightly smaller than the cake always looks better than one that overhangs.

Made to order with their name — emailed to you

There is nothing to download the moment you pay, because the topper does not exist yet — it has your child's name and age on it. You type the name, our designer builds it into the artwork properly, and we email you the print-ready file. Standard turnaround is 24 hours; add rush and it is with you in 2. You can also change the background colour, change the font colour, or send us a photo of the birthday child and we will build that in instead — which is the one thing a supermarket cake counter cannot do for you.

Cupcakes that match the cake

Most themes offer a "Cake Topper + 20 Cupcake Toppers" option: the same artwork, plus a sheet of 20 round cupcake toppers. It is the difference between a cake and a cake table — and it costs a couple of dollars more, not twenty.
